SunProd – Products of the Sun is a company founded by Walter R. Ansorge, who has 40 years experience in the citrus sector.
In 2024, Sunprod Srl proudly announced the acquisition of a leading Sicilian processing company, marking a significant milestone in its growth. This strategic investment has led to the creation of Sunrise Srl, a sister company that shares not only Sunprod’s logo and branding but also its core mission, values, and passion for excellence.
Sunrise Srl operates from a modern facility boasting 2,800 square meters, including 2,500 square meters dedicated to citrus processing, cold storage, and advanced laboratories. In addition to in-line and Pelatrice extractors, Sunrise is equipped with latest-generation technologies, such as: machinery for processing tropical fruit (prickly pear, pomegranate, etc.), debittering and deacidification columns, ceramic tangential ultrafiltration 2 aseptic lines and a complete line for essential oils and their by-products.
The acquisition represents for Sunprod the peak of its development and a unique opportunity to strengthen its presence in the industry, no longer with only co-packaging agreements but as a direct producer. After so many years of trading and close relationships with local citrus growers, this investment is the result of a natural evolution that will bring real value to Sunprod's customers, as well as to the growers.
For over a decade, Sunprod and Agres Sicilia have nurtured a solid and ongoing collaboration, ensuring a smooth integration and a continued focus on operational excellence and optimization.
This decision aligns perfectly with Sunprod's goal of meeting the growing global demand for the shortest possible supply chain, underlining its commitment to sustainable agriculture and confirming its leadership role in the citrus derivatives sector.
