MaCSIE is an upcycled food ingredient made by applying papermaking technology to cellulose contained in plant-based food waste and converting it into nanofibers.
By converting it into nanofibers, various functions such as emulsification, water retention, and thickening are achieved. By utilizing these functions, it becomes possible to create innovative foods and cosmetics that were not previously possible. As it is a natural raw material, additive labeling is not required.
Examples of Applications
Canned chu-hi: Provides an authentic citrus aroma through its emulsifying effect
UV cream: Achieves high SPF without using UV absorbers, making it gentle on both skin and coral reefs
In addition to offering functional benefits, this material directly contributes to solving food loss—one of the biggest challenges faced by food manufacturers. |
