The UK Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (now Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) initiated in 1950 a scheme for assessment of the technical performance of food analysis laboratories. This scheme is operated by the Proficiency Testing Group at Central Science Laboratory (CSL). Details of the scheme are available at the CSL stand of the IFIA show.
